Letitia “Tish” James Calls on Republican Keith Wofford to Release Five Years of Tax Returns

NEW YORK -- With less than five weeks until New Yorkers head to the polls, Democratic Attorney General nominee Letitia “Tish” James called on her opponent, Republican Keith Wofford, to publicly release his state and federal tax returns for the last five years.

During the primary, Tish released five years of her state and federal tax returns and publicly posted them to her website -- providing reporters and the public alike with a clear view of her personal finances. This transparency is key due to  Donald Trump’s refusal to release his taxes during the 2016 election and concerns about potential conflicts of interest that could be hidden by a candidate who fails to release their tax returns.

“Transparency is critical. New Yorkers should know where a candidates’ income comes from -- especially if they are running to be the state’s top lawyer. Accountability is key. That’s why my returns are open for review, and why I’m calling on Keith Wofford to release his taxes," said Democratic Attorney General Nominee Letitia "Tish" James.
